A great deal of my work is created
from wire and by combining wire with a variety of materials. Working with glass is a particular specialty of mine creating
what is known as kiln-formed glass. Glass
fusing is the process of stacking two or more layers of glass in a kiln and heating the glass to a very high temperature until
the glass is blended into a single unit. Adjusting the temperature and length of time the glass is in the kiln can create
a variety of effects. Dichroic glass is the most effective glass used in the designing of fused glass jewelry.
Dichroic is a special coating of metal oxides that is applied to the glass in a vacuum. The main characteristic
of dichroic glass is that it has a transmitted and a reflective color. These colors shift and blend depending on your
view. Enjoy browsing the gallery.
